Our Shepherds

We have two teams made up of families in the congregation that meet once a month and have a fellowship meal together. We then send cards to the sick, bereaved, shut-ins, and those needing encouragement. Visits are scheduled to hospitals and to members' homes. Attention is given to any other special needs, such as meals for the sick and shut-ins through these teams. This is a great work and it allows every member the opportunity to get better acquainted with other members while doing a worthwhile work on several different levels.

We keep a well-stocked food pantry at the Annex Building to provide food for any members or neighbors in the area who need a Helping Hand. From time to time we are called upon to assist needy individuals traveling through the area with food, gas or lodging. For the past several years we have been involved in a "coat & blanket drive" for the inner-city needy that helps the homeless in Atlanta. Much of this work is accomplished by member donations of food and clothing.

Weekly Bible classes for all ages are held on Sunday morning at 9:30 AM and Wednesday evening at 7:00 PM. These classes are wonderful learning opportunities for not only children, but for adults as well. Our Worship services are at 10:30 AM and 5:00 PM every Sunday.

A Youth Devotional is held on the last Sunday evening of each month. They attend several area Youth Rallies and Bible Camps each year. During the year the youth participate in local activities and work projects at the building, and the young men are trained to become involved in the worship services.

Each year, during the summer months, a Family Vacation Bible School is held. Classes, skits, crafts and refreshments are available each day during the school. There are classes for all ages and for the adults. VBS Certificates are awarded on the final day and a great cookout is held for all students and their parents. This is a great time to invite friends and neighbors.

The World Bible School is a free correspondence course that can be completed at the student’s leisure by mail. This is the largest Bible class we have consisting of over 500 students at this time. Many of the students come out of the jail ministry program.

We provide support for Brother Garry Jones in his efforts to spread the gospel to India. They are also providing for 30 orphans at "The Mustard Seed Village" and are running a Preacher School. Theophilus Biblical Institute, a two-year preaching school, saw its first graduating class in 2010.
